Following the international success of Dutch Design makes a young generation of Dutch designers heading in new directions. Research into the role and function of design is their starting point. Always revolves around the question: what do we do with the excess? Material, technique and the design will be reassessed. These designers look around and wonder, "what else?"
The investigative work process of these young designers leads to new insights, processes and solutions. Needlework and crafts are reassessed on their merits, minutely material and color research go or not go hand in hand with the latest production techniques and innovations. High quality and durability in response to mass and overproduction.
Fourteen very different products are presented with the aim to provide insight into how designers work and think.
