In close collaboration with Miranda Lantink we designed and produced the New Babylon Chairs and Tables and a huge object in the lobby.
The New Babylon Chair is built up with thin lines of reused plastic resembling a silk like colour pattern. It comes with a comfortable pod shape with cushion.
Miranda wanted a huge object in the lobby, a vase of three metres high, the largest ever printed, executed in crystal clear plastic. The understated design contrasts with the rich decoration. Each triangle is made up of small loops, which create a shimmer. The inflowing daylight reflected and refracted by the structure and lights the vase up. When it is dark the vase is lighted by 12,000 LEDS.
'The Vase' has the same triangles-structure design of the building New Babylon. In a short period of time it became a meetingpoint and an icon for New Babylon.
